Water management plans and concepts

AQUATIS a.s. was engaged in the methodological preparation of the water management planning process and was the lead partner in drafting a number of conceptual and planning documents following the Water Framework Directive (Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council from 2000, establishing a framework for community activity in the field of water policy), as well as following the Flood Directive (Directive 2007/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning assessment and management of flood risks from 2007).
Under the Framework Directive, the planning takes place in three cycles (2010 – 2015, 2016 – 2021 and 2021 – 2027). In conceptual terms, the plans harmonize the essential public water protection interests as an environmental domain, reduction in the adverse effects of floods and droughts and  sustainable use of water resources, especially for drinking water supply purposes. The river basin plans are developed at three levels as River Sub-basin Plans,National River Basin Plans and International River Basin Plans. 
As part of the planning process following the Flood Directive, Floor Risk Management Plans are developed and their preparation is preceded by hydrodynamic modeling of water course sections and development of flood hazards and risks maps in the so-called “Areas of Potential Significant Flood Risk (“APSFR“), proposals for effective flood control measures and preparation of Documentation for Areas of Potential Significant Flood Risk.
 
AQUATIS a.s. was the main author and co-author of a number of documents according to the Framework and Flood Directives:
