Rubber dams

Rubber dams are a modern type of movable and fully automatic weir control system. Due to their relatively low prices and simple operation, they offer an ideal solution for small hydroelectric power plants and for other facilities requiring  impoundment and its control.
AQUATIS a.s. has designed rubber dams for over 50 years. Besides developing design documentation, we also deliver turnkey projects. Our employees provide related engineering services consisting of supervision during assembly, commissioning and warranty services.
AQUATIS a.s. in cooperation with the manufacturer of rubber-textile material used for rubber dams, Rubena s.r.o., has implemented more than 230 rubber dam projects. In addition to about 110 rubber dams installed in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, AQUATIS a.s., in cooperation with the Austrian company Hydro-Construct GesmbH Steyr, implemented projects and deliveries of rubber dams in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Albania, Norway, India and Turkey. We have also installed rubber dams in Estonia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and in North Africa, in Morocco and Algeria.

Most frequent applications:
Water impoundment and control needed to operate hydroelectric power plants; technically simple and cost-effective reconstruction of old weir structures even those with curved ground plans - the movable structure of the rubber dam allows for  additional changes in the weir height and thus the operating level; - impoundment used for other purposes (recreation, water storage for irrigation purposes, ground water level raising, etc.).
The rubber dam operation does not endanger the environment as the operating medium the dams are filled with is water from the river or air.

The rubber dams do not have any aboveground structures disturbing the surroundings.
