Boskovice Dam - reconstruction of the dam aimed to increase safety during flood events

The Boskovice dam is located on the Bělá river in km 7.4 upstream the town of Boskovice in the South Moravian region. Its earth-fill dam (including structures) and the area downstream the dam are located in the cadastral districts of Hrádkov, Vážany u Boskoviceand Boskovice. 

The purpose of the project is to implement measures at the of Boskovice dam in order to ensure safe transfer of a transformed 10000-year flood wave, related work and other construction work ensuring safe and reliable operation of the hydraulic structure in the future.

The reconstruction includes modification of the top of the dam including the raising of the breakwater, new spillway with a higher capacity, chute spillway and stilling basin and a new bridging. It also covers modifications to the waste canal, installation of a camera system and modification of the technical safety supervision equipment.

Length at the crest: 305.0 m
Width at the crest: 11.0 m
Lowest point in the valley: 390.00 m a.s.l.
Slope on the upstream side: 1 : 1.6
Slope on the downstream side: 1 : 1.9
Dam crest elevation in the axis: 432.65 m a.s.l.
