Description of flood protection:
Flood protection measures in the urban area of the city of Olomouc carried out as part of sub-stage II.A, aimed to increase the capacity of the Morava river from Q20 = 384 m3/s na QN = 650 m3/s. 
Increasing the riverbed capacity consisted of raising the existing dams, constructing new dikes and reinforced concrete walls, removing berms and river sediments, etc. 
 
Other related work: movable dames on the middle reaches of the Morava river, relocation of utility networks, pavements, roads and cycle paths, revitalization measures in the riverbed including the parallel bypass Morava canal in a length of   280 m, replacement plantings, wooden fortifications, etc.
