Close to nature flood control measures on the Desná river in the section of river km 14,231 – 16,840

Project partners: Partners: Povodí Moravy, s.p. , municipality of Vikýřovice and municipality of Petrov nad Desnou.
The project includes a new rubber dam, 2 new capacity bridges, 2 wooden footbridges and 4 fish passes 

Other related works:
Part of the construction includes relocation of utility networks and other related investments.
A drainage system and pumping tunnels are designed to  pump internal water during floods, a total of 11 mobile pumps.

Description of flood protection:
Flood protection measures implemented as part of stage I ensuring an increase in the capacity of the Desná River in km 14,231 to 16,840 (in a length of 2,6 km) to Q50 = 131 m3/s. The proposed construction of close to nature flood protection measures includes construction of 5 flood parks, modification of the riverbed, widening and lowering of the berms, construction of new earth dams and protective reinforced concrete walls with sealing walls and local dredging of the riverbed.
