Project description:
The objective of the project is to design flood protection measures close to nature at the stage for joint zoning and building permits in the area of the city of Brno under the currently implemented flood protection measures, stages VII and VIII. This construction is closely connected with the project of "Reconstruction of the Brno Railway Junction", which has received a zoning permit. The flood protection measures are planned to be implemented on the left and right banks of the Svratka river in the section from the Uhelná/Poříčí viaduct to the Přerov railway bridge. The section is 1,478 km long. The increased flow profile of the river Svratka will be achieved by removing the existing bank edge under the protection of vertical quay walls and creating a walkable berm near the water surface. In the area of the unfinished railway polyclinic, significant soil removal is planned to create a flood park.
As regards the Svitava, this is a section on the right bank from the Hladíkova street bridge to the Přerov railway bridge with a length of 1,777 km. The main trained section is located under Černovická street, where a smaller flood park and walkable berms for citizens will be created in the lowered areas.
The contract includes revitalization of the Svratka and Svitava rivers. Making them accessible to the public.
