Prague - Staré Město lock chamber – optimization of a short bypass shape

The project entitled "Shape optimization of hydraulic structures using parametric models and CFD" developed in cooperation with CTU Prague - Faculty of Civil Engineering team, with the help of the ZÉTA Applied Research Support Program, project no. TJ04000187, the shape optimization of a one-sided short bypass connected to a planned lock chamber in the Old Town in Prague was made with the aim of establishing safe conditions for navigation during the lock chamber filling. The shape optimization used the FLOW-3D program in conjunction with a parametric modeller, which generated shapes of the short bypass entering the model.
