The project-related work conducted over almost 20 years included a number of stages - studies and qualitative models of the basin, analyzes and proposals for measures to be taken in the reservoir, designer supervision during implementation of a costly sets of measures aimed to improve water quality all the way to the evaluation of effectiveness and proposed variants of the the measure intensification (see the list below) .
A number of measures to reduce eutrophication have been introduced and implemented in the reservoir itself, with the most efficient being the combination of aeration systems and precipitation of phosphorus using a coagulant at the inflow to the reservoir. The aeration system installed in the reservoir consists of 5 aeration and 15 mixing towers ensuring aeration and de-stratification of the water column. Based on a detailed analysis, they aeration towers will be replaced with stirring towers in stage IV and supplemented with another 4 towers to reach a total of 24 units.
